Did you miss our videos at Elmia Lastbil 2026?

This year, we wanted to tell our story using a different approach than in 2024. “Team up with the best” has been with us since 2022 and has since become an established slogan. For us, it’s about always striving to be the best partner, working with the best, and delivering the best.

When we started working on this year’s film, we brainstormed freely about what we wanted to include, what was realistic to capture on film, and how we would go about it. One thing we knew right from the start: we wanted to continue saying “Team up with the best!”

In the past, we’ve filmed a lot here at Alf Pettersson AB and shared our story, focusing on us as a company and the people who work here. But this year, we wanted to broaden our perspective and show more of what’s happening with our customers.

It wasn't easy to choose. We have many customers with impressive businesses and interesting stories to tell. This time, we had the opportunity to visit two bodybuilders whose businesses, in many ways, reflect what we ourselves are passionate about.

Although they work with different types of vehicles, they share the same mindset when it comes to scalability, workflow, and efficiency. It became clear that these are exactly the kinds of environments where we thrive and want to be a part of.

Here at our company, we wanted to share exactly the same message: how we work to create efficient workflows, enable growth, and help our customers’ businesses run even more smoothly. That’s also where we see the connection between us and the product that leaves our doors and continues its journey out to the customer.

The challenge, therefore, was to find the common thread. How do you tell the story of the people, the products, and the partnerships in a way that feels authentic? How do you show that what’s happening at our company also resonates with the customer?

We hope we’ve managed to tell our story just as well as our amazing customers tell theirs, and that the film shows why we still believe the message is just as relevant today:

Thank you to all our visitors!

We’re happy and proud that so many people—customers, suppliers, family, and friends—wanted to come and visit us. We got to showcase a bright and well-organized Alf Pettersson AB, which has been working on workflow, efficiency, and investments in new, practical machinery. Not only that, but the cake and coffee were delicious, everyone was in high spirits, and our two hours flew by.

That's why we're hosting an open house, where you'll have the chance to meet us, get a close-up look at what we do, and celebrate our anniversary with coffee and cake.

Passed ISO audit, again!

We are once again proud to have passed the external ISO audit!

The audit, carried out by an external certification organization, aimed to review our management system and ensure that we meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

During an audit, processes, procedures and working methods are reviewed to ensure that a company maintains high standards, for us, in quality and the environment (but in other business contexts also information security). To get an approved result, you need a well-functioning system in place that involves working in a structured way for continuous improvement.

We would like to thank our staff for their commitment and work in maintaining our high standards. This certification is proof of our continuous focus on quality and development.

Elin - Newest colleague at APD

Elin, one of our latest additions, comes from Bergstena, a few miles outside Alingsås. Right next to the edge of the forest, she lives with her husband Fredrik and their three daughters, on a large farm where Fredrik farms with grain cultivation and forestry.

When we sit down over a cup of coffee, we know that she is finishing two major projects that she has been working on for a long time, but more about this later.

Elin says that she previously worked as a designer, specializing in car safety before she landed with us. There it was mainly about designing details in various plastic materials and she became a baddare at reading detailed specifications and it goes hand in hand with what she does with us today.

Here she works in the development department APD, where she focuses on standards, regulations, certificates, labeling and material reporting to, among other things, IMDS.

IMDS - which stands for International Material Data System - is a global data repository used by the automotive industry to map what and how much of different substances products contain. For example, IMDS can be used to identify harmful substances, and then work to minimize them.

 - "It's important for us to keep up with and manage the demands made, not only by customers and suppliers but also by the Swedish Transport Agency, the EU and others. There's a lot of reading and in-depth study" she says and continues "I research and make sure that all information is up to date".

She has come to work a lot with her colleague Janne, who is also at APD, as well as Anna on quality and Benthe on purchasing - all three, who have large parts in reporting, investigations, risk analysis and documentation.

Looking ahead, we see some new product releases - which Elin has had great involvement in and we think it feels fun and safe to have Elin on the train...

Together with another colleague, Ms. Noack, she has helped to gather directives and rules around the new standard for wide load signs, to ensure that we have the right information and knowledge in the project. In the past few days, the latest prototypes we have developed were tested, with great success.

To our recurring question about the lunchbox, Elin replies quite quickly that lasagna is what she could imagine eating every day for the rest of her working life.

Right now she is looking forward to Christmas, which means the opportunity for a little extra crafting, cooking and Christmas coziness, something that Elin really enjoys. When she has time, she is happy to be creative in photography and other crafts or she sits down with a good book that can then be ventilated with friends in the book club.

And to return to Elin's major projects that will soon be completed... Among other things, it is an updated variant of our heater Mistral that is in the final stage, but also as we mentioned, the new range of wide load signs, which meet the new regulations from the Swedish Transport Agency and the EU.

Elin has now released its part in the wide load signs and (the range of) products is moving forward into the final stages of the process.

"We are early on the ball and will have a finished range of wide load signs for delivery in early 2025" says Jan-Krister (CEO) when we check the situation after our conversation with Elin.

It is an exciting time ahead and we think it is really fun to have strengthened the team with Elin, who has already done a great job to continue to keep Alf Pettersson AB at the forefront of the industry!

AP Box production line - Fast and safe flow with quality

Today we meet Karin and Tommy, two of the colleagues working at the AP Box production line. Together with the rest of the colleagues in production and production engineering, they have planned and finalized the production line to suit us, our customers' orders and our increased production flow down to the smallest detail.

Karin, who is still quite "green" here with us, has been working at this production line since we launched it right after the holidays.

Karin herself started in May, just before the holidays. But with her long experience from previous jobs at one of Sweden's largest car manufacturers, we couldn't resist involving her here.

Karin is driven and likes to learn new things, everything from puttering in the garden at home in the villa in Edsås, just outside Alingsås, to developing at work. She lives in Edsås with her daughter Hedvig, two dogs, cats and some chickens.

Tommy, on the other hand, has worked with us long before we started up the line, in May 2022 he made his first day. Tommy lives in the city, i.e. Alingsås, together with his family and two-year-old dog Lukas. Tommy is basically a welder and sheet metal worker, which suits our business perfectly.

In our production line AP Box, many of our toolboxes are now produced. Thanks to adjustable work tables, vacuum lifts, roller conveyors and a standardized flow, boxes of all sizes can be assembled easily and smoothly.

First, the sweep is prepared for riveting and sealing, and then it rolls on to the assembly of the bottom, back, shelf support, and sealing, among other things. From there, the box rolls on to the assembly of hinges, door locks—and is finally lifted over to the "finished pallet."

The process flows ergonomically, safely, and stably, for both colleagues and product flow.

Both Karin and Tommy are active in their spare time, Karin likes functional fitness and cycling, while Tommy likes to play a little floorball or badminton, preferably with other colleagues here at Alf Pettersson AB.

This happy and productive duo completes box after box quickly, easily and with high quality.

By working smarter and more efficiently, the AP Box production line has greatly contributed to our competitiveness. Our lead times have been reduced and many of our most popular AP Box variants are now in stock for immediate delivery.

... and finally to get to know Karin and Tommy a little better. What would they choose to have as the only dish in their lunchbox for the rest of their lives? Karin quickly answered "Ox rolls with boiled potatoes and pickles" while Tommy is more than happy to have "Goulash soup with crème fraiche and white bread". Both dishes sound really good and are something completely different from the classic meat sauce and spaghetti.

For a few intense days, we have been filming at the company in Alingsås and in the surrounding area. To help us, we had our fantastic colleagues and a happy driver, Roger, at Allatorps Åkeri.
