Passed ISO audit, again!

We are once again proud to have passed the external ISO audit!

The audit, carried out by an external certification organization, aimed to review our management system and ensure that we meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

During an audit, processes, procedures and working methods are reviewed to ensure that a company maintains high standards, for us, in quality and the environment (but in other business contexts also information security). To get an approved result, you need a well-functioning system in place that involves working in a structured way for continuous improvement.

We would like to thank our staff for their commitment and work in maintaining our high standards. This certification is proof of our continuous focus on quality and development.

"The organization has created a management system that is well adapted to the business and provides support for meeting standard requirements, customer requirements and regulatory requirements. I see a forward drive for improvement in a structured way. Positive reception from everyone I met during the audit and a strong commitment from all employees." - Jörgen Hermansson, A3Cert

Together, we continue to improve and deliver with the highest standards!

October 2023 Cycling Challenge

Hello, Clara in communications here. - Me with the flowery sweater at Alf Pettersson AB...

I invited our cycling enthusiasts to a small "sit down" where I, on the last day, wanted to inquire about how it went, why they chose to participate and whether they will continue cycling even after the challenge. Of course, I myself have participated in the challenge, in addition to the fact that I have actually cycled since mid-April (yes, I actually put the car away for the summer).

This year we had 10 participants in the challenge, which took place in October, including both communicators, myself and Roland. In addition to us, Jan-Krister, Anna, Jesper, Simon, Benthe, Gareth, Henrik and Veronika also cycled, which is absolutely fantastic. What we all agree on is that the next challenge should include at least 5 more people. We all want to participate again, but we see potential in our other colleagues as well.

October is not a great month for cycling and more than once, most of us probably hesitated whether we should really take the bike.

"Because my son and I cycle past the school on my way to work, some days were difficult to motivate - he didn't want to cycle, so we actually took the car," said Jan-Krister, who nevertheless cycled many of the days.

The times you cycle past traffic jams on the way home are warmer than the rain is cooler, according to both Jan-Krister and Jesper, who live quite centrally.

Jesper usually cycles to work too - "However, it's always more fun to have a challenge and some internal competition in the workplace" he says. Everyone agrees - and most of the people who don't usually cycle are there mainly because of the challenge. "If Anna can cycle, so can I," adds Jan-Krister.

Veronika is our "veteran" - she cycles almost every day, all year round. Snow, rain, wind and sun - nothing stops her! She has, like most others in the gang between 2 - 3 km one way - but also cycles home sometimes for lunch. Anna, who lives in Lerum, clearly has the longest - but has put together different distances depending on her stamina. The commute between Gothenburg and Alingsås gives her a good boost. "They have actually fixed bicycle parking on the trains," she says, showing a picture of both bicycle racks and clear signs. Super nice, we think!

In general, we have all cycled safely in the dark - reflectors, lights, helmets and high-visibility vests - Safety is important, we think! It is only Henrik who got into a little trouble during the month, but the worst has been a dented bicycle basket and a bruised ego, fortunately.

We talked a bit about alternative challenges and came to the conclusion that a step challenge could perhaps be the next internal competition - A little smoother and also maybe you can count the steps during the rest of the day as well? - Who actually takes the most steps at Alf Pettersson AB?

Cycle safely! //Clara

Fact box

Alf Pettersson AB has participated in the "bicycle challenge" for the second time this year. Cykelvänligast is a challenge that is organized throughout Sweden - all you have to do is register one or more teams of 3-5 people, from your workplace. You can read more here: https://cykelvanligast.se/
Together, we at Alf Pettersson AB have cycled a total of 162 days and 1195 km. Henrik has been the most diligent, who cycled 19 out of 20 days, but in the number of kilometers cycled, I actually win, with 210 km. In the internal competition, the team "AP Premium Bikers" (Anna, Veronika, Gareth, Roland and myself) who each week cycled the most kilometers to our common pot and swept the carpet with "Jeppes biker boys" (Simon, Jesper, Benthe, Henrik and Jan-Krister) won.

Janne, Martin and Gabriel - Newest additions to APD

It's a mixed trio sitting up in the lunch room waiting to answer all our questions. We have started to warm up with a cup of coffee when Gabriel, the youngest of the group, is interrupted and has to run down to the office to share his expertise with one of his colleagues in production.
"We'll get you last" - Roland shouts at Gabriel's back.

Jan-Olof Helgesson, or Janne as we have come to call him, is, together with the other two designers, the newest member of APD (Alf Pettersson Development) and has been working full time for about a month.

Janne lives in a villa in Gråbo since 2008 together with his wife Katarina. They have three adult children, one of whom is his colleague Mackan, whom you have read about before.
Before Janne came here, he had worked for a long time (about 20 years) at a company that produces products for vehicle adaptation. Yes, and also the same as his son Mackan. Janne has a broad experience and has worked with vehicle service, run his own business, had support and of course, designed.

When he's not at work, engines seem to be a common denominator - at home it's all about old cars. The dream car Chevrolet Bel Air sport coupe - 1957 stands in the garage and shines next to Katarina's red Ford Mustang two-door HT. Previously, track racing was a great passion in life, where a rebuilt Volvo 240 got to show its colors. When a bit of time off is at hand and there are no cars, Janne and Katarina usually take the caravan north and usually land somewhere in Dalarna or the surrounding area.

At Alf Pettersson AB - and APD, Janne will work a lot with product development, he has slowly but surely come into the role, with the support of his colleague Pontus Andersson.
- "I soak up as much information and knowledge as possible while trying to get to know all the new faces". He enjoys the working environment and the adventure of starting a new job after 20 years.

Janne says that he has historically been bad at saying "No" - but also says that listening and reflecting is a strength.

Janne praises his wife when he decides that "Katarina's pork tenderloin in creamy chili sauce with rice" is what he would like to have in his lunchbox every day for the rest of his life.

Jan-Olof Helgesson
Janne, Gabriel and Martin
Martin Benjaminsson

Martin Benjaminsson, who lives a little outside Alingsås, more specifically Östadkulle, has long had both eyes and ears on Alf Pettersson AB and now a few months ago he started his new position as a designer with us.

In the countryside, he lives in a villa with his wife Sara and their two teenagers, not to mention their dog Sixten. Martin enjoys having animals and nature close at hand and hikes, or goes down to the mountains on vacation if he gets the chance. When he's not spending time in the mountains, he's drawn to club life, especially football. In the garage there is a self-built motorcycle, and the new vintage moped is often tinkered with.

Just before Martin came to Alf Pettersson AB, he had worked for several years with self-employment, specializing in mobility services. Previously, he had worked at a company in Herrljunga as a development designer of information systems intended for public transport.
We can conclude that we have the right man in the right place - at Alf Pettersson AB, Martin works closely with Simon Petersson at APD, but so far he is "new to the job". After scouting Alf Pettersson AB as a workplace since 2014, he finally got the job. Martin experiences his new workplace as very nice and he appreciates the team spirit that exists. - "Everyone helps" he concludes.

Martin's short answer to the food question is "Mom's meat sauce with spaghetti" - Is it true that moms are the best at making meat sauce?

Gabriel, Martin and Janne

Gabriel Brandin came back up from the office halfway through Janne's interview, he may be the youngest, but he has been with us the longest of the three colleagues. Gabriel is so young that he still lives at home with his mother and father in Vårgårda, and can proudly say that he is the only one of his friends with a full-time job. However, he thinks he will soon leave home, perhaps with his girlfriend Ida?

Gabriel comes straight from high school where he studied engineering with a focus on design and product development. He also studied cad, construction and "image and design". A perfect education to start working at Alf Pettersson AB. When Noack (who we will tell you more about in future newsletters) took Gabriel to Alf Pettersson AB one day to "see how it works", Gabriel hoped that he would soon be able to come back.

Gabriel has many interests, but admits that he likes to geek out when he finds a new thing he enjoys. Right now, wave surfing is the thing - "I've surfed a lot at Lejet," he says, explaining that he has only been surfing for about 1.5 years. Cool, we think. When not surfing, he plays handball, basketball, golf or guitar, and in between he brews coffee and creates latte art. (Coffee is an important part of survival when you work in an office, right?)

He has been with us at APD since June and is already getting into the swing of things. "It's been a bit scary not knowing anything," he says - but he's a fast learner and it shows. The idea is that Gabriel will work on product development and also help communication with the enrichment of articles and products. At first, he felt completely exhausted when he came home full of new impressions, but he has already gotten into the groove and finds it really fun to work.

Gabriel had given a lot of thought to what he could have in his lunch box for the rest of his life, and it ended up being sausage stroganoff with rice - "it's good and keeps well in the box"!

We wish the boys a warm welcome to Alf Pettersson AB!

Colleagues' favourite spots

Here's the full list of highlights from some of our colleagues, with the addition of 3 tips for summer truck events. We hope you enjoy your own favorite place but also discover something new!

1. Marstrand - What would holiday tips be without the west coast, or the best coast as Veronika would say. When she walks around among the boats and houses and eats ice cream - that's when she really has summer. Whoever you are, sun worshipper or adventurous, there is something for you, read more on their website: Here.

2. Northern Öland - It's hard to beat when the sun sets on the horizon and your butt is placed on the pebbles of the Neptune fields. Patrick's favorite is Northern Öland, but if you want to discover the whole island, you can take the bike, smoothly and close to nature. Read more about what's happening on Öland's website: Here.

3. Åre - Are you more adventurous? Clara wants to recommend trail running, down-hill cycling, SUP and hiking in beautiful Åre and the surrounding area.
