Transport 2023 in Herning, Denmark

Alf Pettersson AB will exhibit at Transport 2023 in Herning, Denmark

- "Herning is an interesting fair where we have participated before and we are happy to participate again. It covers an interesting market for us, so it is extra fun to show us there.

We will present some exciting concepts and products that we hope will catch the visitors' attention and we look forward to meeting many of our existing customers, but also new exciting acquaintances.
", said Markus Helgesson.

Markus is one of Alf Pettersson AB's representatives in stand K8010 (Hall K) between April 20-22, 2023 together with Jesper and Mattias where they are happy to tell you more about Alf Pettersson AB, our concepts, products and visions.

Mackan, Jeppe and Granis - who are the sellers?

Get to know our trio as they head down to the Herning Fair in Denmark on April 20-22.

On this rainy Monday, we have gathered three of our salesmen, Markus, Jesper and Mattias up in the lunch room to talk a bit over a cup of coffee. We want to get to know them better, and talk a bit about why we are exhibiting at Herning in April.

Today, just like every other day - in snow, rain or sun - Mattias Granberg has been riding his electric scooter to work - just a few kilometers from his apartment in Alingsås. When he's not tinkering with furniture, watching a series or tinkering with some modern IT solution, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, who lives with him part-time.

Mattias, who also responds to the nickname Granis, had tried most things in the food industry when he applied to us at Alf Pettersson AB in 2021 - a workplace he had heard good things about and also visited several times in his capacity as operations manager of e-commerce for one of Alingsås grocery stores. With a whole "bunch" of jobs in his luggage, he felt ready for new challenges, and got the job as a salesman.

This former Västerå boy has become an important part of the team and enjoys his new workplace and contributes to the good atmosphere at Alf Pettersson AB.
His main task is to maintain relations with both national and European customers.

If he had to choose just one dish to always have in his lunchbox, it would be, not obviously, cassoulet. But he says he's not that picky - "the nutrition has to go in".

To the right of "Granis" is his colleague Jesper Helsén, a former Töllsjö resident who now lives in central Alingsås. Jesper, or Jeppe, as we call him, comes from a background as a coordinator/purchaser and inside salesman.

He had held his last job as an inside salesman for a couple of months before the pandemic struck and the company in question had to give notice to staff - fortunately, he applied to the neighboring company Alf Pettersson AB instead. He had heard good things about us as an employer so it was an obvious choice to apply here when he saw the ad for the sales position in 2020.

Jesper likes football, especially Manchester United or IFK Göteborg. When he's not watching sports, he likes to train, or eat pizza, in Italy. A destination he has chosen to travel to in recent years.

Jesper's main responsibility is to take care of the daily operations and order placement for Volvo. He thinks that he had high expectations when he started at Alf Petersson AB and these have not only been met but exceeded considerably. Need we say that he enjoys his job very much?

Jesper's absolute favorite food box contains, of course, spaghetti and meat sauce.

Together with Jesper, Markus Helgesson also works with a focus on Volvo. Mackan, Helge, or "Mack the hack" as he is also known, lives in a terraced house in Alingsås with his partner and their children. He has not always lived in Alingsås, which you can sometimes hear very clearly in the dialect - Floda may be close - but not enough to get a broad Alingsås dialect, but it leans more towards Gôtebosska.

Mackan has previously worked with marketing, product launches and project management of fairs at companies that produce products for vehicle adaptations. He had worked there for 10 years when he joined us in 2018.

He works with Jesper and takes care of Volvo and all the fantastic people there. Mackan also enjoys his job very much and likes to come here in the early morning hours to start the day.

When he's not working or spending time with his family, he's more than happy to fish, but settling down in front of the TV to watch motorsport or ice hockey beats most things. Frölunda are of course Mackan's heroes.

He not only has the Volvo in common with Jesper - but also his favorite lunchbox, meat sauce and spaghetti. It goes down every day of the week.

The reason why we chose to talk to this particular trio today was because all three will be at Herning Transport 2023 - a fair we have attended before and are excited to experience again. We will bring some exciting concepts and products and hope to meet many, both old and new faces.

"Herning is a large and exciting fair with interesting markets for us, so it's extra fun to show ourselves there", Markus told us when we sat down together. Among other things, Markus is in stand K8010 (Hall K) together with Jesper and Mattias where they are happy to tell you more about us - Alf Pettersson AB and our visions.

See you in Herning?

Thanks for this year!

Thanks for this year!
2022 has in many ways been a challenging year that we have taken on together with the highest ambition, always striving to be the best partner.

We sum up the year with our highest turnover so far, several new talented employees and a lot of fun and successful collaborations with your customers and suppliers.

This year, we have chosen to give our Christmas gift to the Cancer Foundation, which does very important work to reduce and support those affected by cancer. Cancer affects everyone in some way and for us, as for many others, it has touched us uncomfortably close during the year. We want to help beat cancer faster.

The last days of the year are approaching, hope you have a great end to the year, take care of yourself and each other and we look forward to a great new year in 2023!

Full activity in our warehouse

As usual, our warehouse is in full swing, handling all incoming and outgoing goods from early morning to late afternoon.

In addition to customer deliveries worth over 90 million SEK per year, goods and parcels from our suppliers also pass through this diversion system to be handled and stored, as well as materials for our partners where, for example, components for certain products need to be coated or completed in some form.

Adam with his 8 years is the one who has worked the longest in the department. A few years later Jens and Martin B joined us and this year the department has expanded with Martin W, who started last spring and Olivia who joined us in November.

Olivia Stålberg from Alingsås, who among other things likes to exercise and is a new car owner, has acquired her knowledge and experience from previous work at ICA Maxi and their goods and warehouse management and even though it is Martin Wellner's first year at Alf Pettersson AB, he has a really long experience of warehouse processes and handling goods after his 23 years in the Luna group.

Jens Björk, who is responsible for the department, also has experience from Luna before he chose to join us at Alf Pettersson AB. Jens, who lives in Hemsjö just outside Alingsås, enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time except when he and his wife Karin spend time with Martin B and his wife Annika. By the way, it was Karin and Annika who decided that Jens and Martin should work together, so that's how it turned out...

Martin Björkman is a carpenter of rank (according to his colleagues) and is currently working on some smaller projects in his spare time after having finished his and his family's house in Hemsjö.

Adam Ahlström lives in Vårgårda with his partner Wilma. Adam's interests can be summarized like Jens and Martin, there will be a lot of fishing but also some social hanging out with friends.

So when you unpack your next package from Alf Pettersson AB, you now have full control of who made sure that the goods are well documented and well packed so that you can do a good job in your business.

Now we hope that all our customers, suppliers and partners had a good end to last year and a good start to 2023, so we continue to send well-packed goods on time this year as well.

Additional expertise for Alf Pettersson AB

This November, as the cold weather takes hold of everyday life for real, the days can feel dark, dull and dreary, but that's nothing to be ashamed of when you get out into our production. It's a hive of activity from early morning to late afternoon and you can immediately feel the good vibes, despite the fast pace, and you're usually greeted with a smile, no matter who you meet.

Our new colleagues Gareth, Malin and Ramond contribute greatly to the good atmosphere, but some say that it was already there before they joined the business, and that may well be the case, because it was one of the reasons they joined Alf Pettersson AB.

Now all three are not completely new to the business Ramond has been with us for a while now, about 1.5 years but Gareth and Malin started during October. Three colleagues who have a broad and solid competence, having previously worked in e.g. forestry and manufacturing, fine carpentry, massage, window manufacturing, balloon sculpting, car building, fine mechanics and the profession of window cleaning.

Experience that may not be required to work at Alf Pettersson AB, but experience and knowledge from other industries is good to have as we continue to develop our business, work environment and well-being together in the company.

Malin is a jack-of-all-trades with experience from many different industries. One experience she has is that she wants to work with her body and preferably with practical things and then work at Alf Pettersson AB fits perfectly. Malin lives in a villa just outside Alingsås with her three children, together with her partner and his two children. She likes to be active in her spare time and is involved in many of the children's activities.
Malin currently works in assembly and the reason she applied to Alf Pettersson AB is that the company has a reputation for being a good place to work.

Gareth, a gentleman with his roots in England, now lives in Alingsås with his two sons, aged 8 and 10. He has previously worked as a team leader at another Alingsås company and before that he worked in hospitality. Gareth currently works in assembly and also enjoys creating and making practical things in his spare time and is a self-proclaimed woodworking nerd. "Using old manual tools, implements and techniques and creating something at my leisure is something I really enjoy..."

Ramond, comes from the northern parts of Alingsås municipality, more specifically from Sollebrunn where he lives with his partner and their two daughters, 9 and 13 years old, and Bernese mountain dog Brumma. In his spare time he supports the local football team where he has taken on the role of leader of his daughters' respective football teams and thanks to his daughters' interest in football, Ramond is now a qualified UEFA-C leader (please read more on SvFF).
Ramond has a broad experience from different industries behind him and is currently working a lot with material management which is an important part of streamlining and creating capacity in the business.

A warm welcome to the team, Ramond, Malin and Gareth!

Quality and management systems

At the end of January we had the annual audit of our quality and environmental management system, ISO-9001 and ISO-14001. Our audit manager from A3CERT noted no discrepancies or observations and we aim to continue to do so in the future.

Our quality and environmental management system gives the organisation the opportunity and the right conditions for constant improvement and continuous development, thereby lifting the company to new levels. It puts us in a better position to meet the increasing demands, needs and wishes of the future.

For you as a customer, this means that together we can create even better conditions to respond to the increasing demands and wishes of your customers.

PS. You have not missed that we have published our Code ofConducton the website! Look under "About us" / "Dependable Process Partner" where you will also find our quality and environmental policy.
